Condolences

Condolences

A Poem by L.C. Deckard
"

Forced farewell in the name of someone else’s honor

"
A letter never read

You left because you felt you had too
You fought because you said our country needed you
And now
I stare at your perfect motionless face
Tears streaming from my eyes
...
You died because a country was falling
You died because you left
But
I died when I was forced to say goodbye
And
Placed my hands upon the letters you never sent.

About
I've been writing on and off for years. Writing has always been an outlet used to purge those emotions unfit for the day to day social dance. My writing comes from a place of messy uncontrolled urges .. more..
