CondolencesA Poem by L.C. DeckardForced farewell in the name of someone else’s honor
A letter never read
You left because you felt you had too You fought because you said our country needed you And now I stare at your perfect motionless face Tears streaming from my eyes ... You died because a country was falling You died because you left But I died when I was forced to say goodbye And Placed my hands upon the letters you never sent. © 2020 L.C. Deckard |
