1st Place Winner

1st Place Winner

A Poem by Lucinda Bogart
"

Thanks so much. You love me....you really, really love me !!!

"

Once again

The winners were announced
And no one pounced
On my supposed 1st place win

Guess I’ll have to try
Again
To get noticed by you
To be the very 1st place

Winner
Of
Your
Contest

Though I tried my best
I’ll get no rest
Until your love of my writing
Is realized

Or else my thighs
Are gonna get BIG
And BIGGER still

Chocolate

Or else I’ll have to
Kill
That flower
Shaken so solemnly

Then alone
I’ll be
With my own
Geranium

Hahahahaha....all tongue in cheek, of course... If you don't get the ending, look up Rhapsody on a Windy Night by T.S. Eliot.

This was very funny in a somewhat bittersweet way. I had to laugh, and yet I have been in the position of being both the unchosen and the one who must do the choosing, neither place is a very comfortable position to hold. I look forward to reading more of your work! Thank you for inviting me to read this.

LOL! The cynical tone of your writing cracks me up! Quite clever . . . and how shall we ever forget Sally Fields that year? I do wonder sometimes at the process utilized to determine contest winners ~ ?

Keep writing, my dear, this is a keeper! Enjoyed!
