Talk To The Pen

Talk To The Pen

A Poem by Lucinda Bogart
"

Just a bit of laugh-out-loud tongue-in-cheek irony...I'm sure none of you have people in your life for which you've written alternative endings...Well, maybe not ??

"

Shy though I am

I’ve got my Pen
To do the talking for me

With a stroke of luck
I’ll shut you up
Then where will you be

Stuck under a truck
Strung like a buck
Perhaps the King of Siam

So best you speak
Kindly to me
Or have to face my pen

I always hate it when I find a poem funny and don't know if that was the authors intention... I never want to say it's funy and risk insulting an author on what could be a very serious piece... thankfully you noted that was your goal so it is ok for me to say I got a laugh from this... I feel the smae way, I would always rather write my thoughts out than say them and risk screwing up my point... lol... I especially like the verse "stuck under a truck, strung up like a buck, perhaps the king of siam" such simple rhyming then you throw in a twist... got me to smile for the first time this week! Thanks!

I like this one Lucinda; it reminds me of a prologue to a diary or an overture to a memoir

Quite funny, a new bit of a new fold in your repertoire I would say. It was a nice read that draws you in. I liked your tongue and cheek Irony as I always do. It is always the pen that wins the wars, giving and taking voice building up and undercutting the establishments of our society.

Oh yes how the mightiest have fallen victim to the pen. We can not help but to have our justice served the way we think and it is possible with the stroke of the pen. I like your thinking here and the way you did it so happily like a careless breeze floating by.

Great Job!!!!!

Ah yes the power of the pen. So many foolishly think that it's force that wins battle, when really its the pen in so many instances. Look at misconceptions in history. We remember the stories we've heard or read more than what may have actually happened. One word can ruin a person's reputation...a punch can't do that. Great write and also quite funny too.
