An Elephant Never Forgets

An Elephant Never Forgets

A Poem by Lucinda Bogart

An elephant never forgets to sway

And dance and sing in the elephant way

With a jiggle of his tubee trunk
He can snirt and squirt and huff and grunt

With light soft steps across the sky
The elephant begins to fly

And soar and roar in and through the clouds
Swooping and swimming among the boughs

If even only in his elephant dreams
An elephant can grow his elegant wings

An elephant never forgets to sway
And dance and sing in the elephant way

Great writing. I love shorter poems as I tend to get bored with the longer ones and eventually lose the plot. Liked this one a lot. At one point I thought it could be a 'jumbo' jet (excuse the pun!). Brilliant.

Yes I supose that is true. I think there is always a great deal of meaning to your pieces, or some sort of depth. Your word choice is good and everything fits just right. Thank you for sending me this piece.

I like the innocence conveyed in this piece.
It's very pure; it makes me feel lighter, happier, somehow.
