Your Hard Times

Your Hard Times

A Poem by Lucinda Bogart
"

A poem...or perhaps the lyrics to a blues tune... I've included a photo of David Honeyboy Edwards to help you imagine a bluesman thumpin' out the heartbreak...

"

Your HARD times

I'm not buying them

Your HARD times

You can keep on flying them

Cause I spent my own

HARD luck past

I made my own

And I made them fast

Keep your tales of woe

Cause your HARD times

Got no where to go

They're all yours

It's what you paid me for

I'll give you some

Then I'll give you more

Cause baby I'm through

With your games

Get on now

Your story's lame

I took your grief

And you took my time

I'm not paying

Another dime

For your HARD times

Those times was mine

I liked the poem. How you placed the word hard in capital letters seemed to me to give it more meaning. I think it was well written.
