Sonnet 1

The first in a series of sonnets about how much I dislike sonnets.

How I hate these sonnets

They're all about love and lust

The boat's here, I'd better get on it

Because my teacher says they're a must

But oh how my eyes get blurry

As I fill out chart after chart

Hiding a yawn, I'd better hurry

But sonnets really are a fart

I'm not sure if that's correct grammar

But I'm supposed to make this thing rhyme

I want to smash this poem with a hammer

I'm impatient, this takes too much time

There, I'm done, finished, hurray!

The boat left, and I wish I hadn't gotten on it today
