Ode To Bananas

Ode To Bananas

A Poem by L B
"

An ode to bananas.

"
Banana, banana
You delight us all
We wonder if you'd grow in a savannah
To you we all crawl

If I don't eat you soon I'll start to bawl
Your hard skin will break under my nails
Sweet juice will drip onto my shawl
Gorgeous fruit, to you I hail

If I squeeze you your skin goes brown
Your golden yellow is pretty not funky
But when you're green or black I frown
I never leave enough of you for a monkey

To the grocery store I will bike
I crave only your soft flesh
When midnight hunger strikes
I will find you in baskets made of mesh

As I finally break your peel
Your taste is seductive
To me you appeal
But now I'm supposed to be doing homework and my mother says eating you is not productive

This is a beautiful piece of poetry. It really captures the essence of bananas. I often wonder if anyone appreciates them as much as I do. I guess someone actually does. I love it. 100 points!
