Sensible Shoes

My light poem for the weekend frivolity. Channeling my inner Nancy Sinatra. Have a good one! Kick up your heels! ;)

Now you know I have a thing for shoes
I've shoes for every mood
I'd rather have my Michael Kors
than spend my dime on food
My preference you realize
are pointy toed and high
kitten heels, sexy straps
or on wedges I'll get by
My signature? red tartan pumps
I've been stopped on the street
by those with true shoe envy
who just can't believe these feet
Given that my penchant
is for four inches and more
why were there no eyebrows raised
after the last trip to the store?
Row upon row of high heeled beauties
stacked with loving care
and I bring home four new pairs
of running shoes to wear?
He should have seen it coming
and started some sweet talking
Because in my world, sensible shoes
means your baby plans on walking

definitely something for men to ponder...let your lady explore and exploit her shoe fancy, or she may just walk.....i never got the whole "shoe" thing with women but to be fair...they never got the whole music and movie and car thing with me. it's kinda like boys and their toys....women wanna play too, and many of them seem to love to feel pretty and......shoes do that for them! frankly, i prefer a woman with a thing for scanty lingerie, but whatever makes them happy is fine by me. nice write!

Thanks Quinny! I was inspired by that nancy Sinatra song "these boots were made for walking". I managed to post a picture of my fave boots with the poem, but could not get it to centre on the boots only. You have to click on the picture to get the boots to show. Wish I was more technologically gifted!

Great fun piece of writing and laughed at the end .. not sure if the 'walking' means you're literally walking one step at a time or walking AWAY from a guy! Whichever, there's a real romping rhythm to this and the way you describe that fetish of yours is quite something. Not sure I could manage the four inch heels when I'm working though .. good luck to you if you can!

Must admit, LA, you did a great job, here. And I agree with your conclusion that sensible shoes make the best walking shoes; also believe that badass high heels are somethinbg women should wear to bed--hopefully, while I'm still somewhere in the vicinity.
