Dear John

Dear John

A Poem by LA Lorena
"

This piece was written especially for my boss, as a very special dedication. Needless to say, he no longer signs my pay cheques!

"

 Dear John,

I can't wait for Monday
so I can tell you where to go
It will be such a fun day
I look forward to it so!

When you bought my boss's practice
You said we'd all be fine
then promptly fired half the staff
to protect your bottom line

Those of us that made the cut
have had to live in fear
for the day that it would be our turn
to take it up the rear

So you lopped off all our benefits
cut my hours, then my pay
changed all conditions of employment
and I didn't have a say

You've made my life unpleasant
and caused me so much stress
created financial hardship
but you couldn't have cared less

You only see the dollar signs
and want to save a buck
that I can't afford to pay my rent
who really gives a f**k?

Well listen to me Doctor
I think you're quite a dope
And what I really want to tell you
is to go piss up a rope

You can think up some good story
to tell the patients when they ask
what's happened to our favourite nurse
the one who has always run the back?

The new regime is here it seems
but it certainly lacks a heart
and if this is how you do business
well, I really want no part

I've found myself a new boss
one who appreciates good staff
and I'll be filing with the labour board
and then I'm gonna laugh

We're in the business of making smiles
so it's only apt I grin
for you'll be paying me some severance
And I'll relish when I win

You're not the only gig in town
and I will not let this pass
so kindly take your crummy job
and shove it up your a*s

Sincereley,

LA Lorena

I really understand this! I know that often the "new" doctors can treat staff like an expense item and try to get by on the cheap...
Our staff is our greatest asset! You invest in an assest and that is an expense that will pay off every single time! Also, a "boss" should never forget that lives depend on his good judgement. It is always about more than money.
I'm sorry if this really happened to you and I know you love your job now.
Be happy to know that the old boss will get their due if they have not already gone under...

Oh Please I wish I wanted to resign NOW and my CEO is called John too so I'd simply send him your poem instead of a letter. This made me laugh and laugh! Thank you so so much and I hope you got the severance!

Well done lass!!!!

It's great to walk away and leave it all behind. I'm always so impressed with how you can take very nearly any given topic and rhyme it while maintaining such points of specificity...excellent...!

I'm glad you found another place to dedicate your skills...!
