What're We Doing?A Poem by Brandon LangleyInspired by both Pink Floyd's 'What Shall We Do Now?' my own personal cynicism of the consumerist world we live in, it cultures, and what we choose to celebrate.Look at us, Look at them, Look at you, Look at me, Look at this rat-race, We self-identify with. And all you want is hate, They just want to shove, While he can't masturbate. Look at this moral compass, That we choose to abide by, And while we hail Columbus, I'll watch as you go and buy. All this useless s**t, You found and bought, That they'll choose to quit, While someone gets naught. Listen to the Jews,' And all the Jesus-freaks, Sat at their pews, While the man fills their cheeks. Watch while they all give up, Their priorities for cash, We'll get AIDS from the pup, They'll get dazed from the crash. Why can't even a wall, Manage to keep them out, Just kick sand in their hall, While they're still having a drought. So let's just ruin, Be the world's police, Watch it brewin', Tour the Middle East. Paint the whites, Bleach the blacks, Who's got rights? Let's give'em the axe! Snap their bones, Open veins, Unleash drones, Smash their brains. Stick the f**k-ups in camps, Behind bars, won't go far, Burned out your lamps, Kill the tsar, it's just who we are! © 2014 Brandon Langley |
