On My Own Level

On My Own Level

A Poem by Brandon Langley

All around me,
Everybody,
Is beneath me,
Someone save me.

Smarter than them,
Better than them,
What's wrong with them,
Useless as phlegm.

Even my kin,
Drinking their gin,
Can't pierce my skin,
Leave them in the bin.

I'm no superman,
No installment plan,
Frail like soda cans,
I'm just fodder, man.

So, what am I,
What a wise-a*s guy?
When things go awry,
Am I a good guy?
