It Hurts.
A Poem by Brandon Langley
You know... Sometimes, It hurts.
And... I don't know about you, But it feels like I'm the only one feeling it.
Because... It's easy for you, isn't it? Well, it's not for me.
Because... I try, But, do you?
Because... I'm not sure, If you care.
I'm sure you know... How bad it hurts, But you don't.

I just saw this was posted. I like your use of the courier font, it makes this actually seem like a message, maybe one sent to the person who caused the narrator heartbreak. The tone is very casual, but in a sort of I'm-too-hurt-to-talk sort of way....okay, that didn't make any sense, did it? Anyway, great poem...and that last line. I had to think about it. Does it mean that the narrator was so convinced that the You of the poem was aware of the narrator's heartbreak, but, in the end, the narrator was disappointed and saddened to discover that You did not know. Maybe that You don't even care...that the narrator didn't know You as well as the narrator thought he/she did. Nicely writ, and very sad : (
