A Poem by L4rn13

It will never be enough...
You said you'll always keep your promise...
Again I stand alone with no destination
You took it all my hope and dreams if I ever had any
I can't remember any more.
Used to have a purpose now its trashed for nothing means anything
Keep dragging up the past.
Its there for a reason, why call it back?
It left so let it lay in its muddy remains.
It will never be enough...
You said you'll always keep your promise...
Used to be so taken but now your presence is hollow
I need time for it to sink in.
What have I done?
Why are we still here?
Nothing more should come of this
So many disappointments, so many failures left to uncover...
But you?
I won't be with you much longer...
It never is enough...
You never kept your promise...

I feel this, to the bone. A vast lie, a broken promise of importance, can wither affection, make a hole within the relationship, a void you cannot ignore or fill. Thank you for penning.

I like this; the haunting echo of a presence which you want(ed) but not anymore. The reasons are there - disappointment, heartbreak and probably, a latent anger too. It's better to rid ourselves of such painful presences than drag it continuously.

Life is harsh sometimes. You just have to go with it sometimes. Nice write.

Poem from a Poet... I shan't befuddle your mind With poems of vampires Or quadruple signs, But rather rhythmful beats. For I am a poet And express through torn seams The stories of the heart,.. more..
