Slowly the Mentality Slips...A Poem by L4rn13Lyrics from Linkin Park's 'Lies, Greed, Misery'
All consuming lies like snakes within forked,
spotted tongues, Hissing so slight. Had always been on the safety fence watching people go by in their day to day lives Stuck behind this window, never able to remove the double glazed barrier, now I ask why... 'Choke on your lies, Swallow up your greed, Suffer all alone in your misery...' Bury the body within the snowflakes of feathers, Laugh as the wind howls outside the double glazing, Smash the glass to venture outside The slide, all covered in slick pristine ice like nothing you have ever seen. Watch the Unseelie Queen work her magic to hasten Winter's pace, Be warned for such a place is her domain. But that voice will repeat and remain... 'Choke on your lies, Swallow up your greed, Suffer all alone in your misery...' Nothing left undone and no hope there to hold onto She is icy but won't lie to you For she is clear and obsolete. Find your way back to that double glazed crack As quickly as you dare and never set foot there again... Don't ever wonder the woods at night... Don't ever wonder the snow with no light... 'Tell no more lies, Stop wallowing in greed, Suffer no longer...let go of misery...' © 2013 L4rn13 |
