2,500 years ago.

Long ago, the human Emperor Aulus and the demon lord Zulzrath split Northtonas into two separate lands. They did this to live peacefully, avoiding further pointless wars and bloodshed on either side. Their motivation was not to protect the other but to safeguard themselves from harm. One side was designated for humans to roam freely, free from demon rule, while the other was for demons to do as they pleased, without human constraints. The human realm was called Cialia, and the demon realm was called The Timeless Reach. A strict rule was established: humans were forbidden to enter the lands of demons, and demons were forbidden to enter the lands of humans.

For 300 years, this arrangement maintained peace. However, a curious child eventually ventured into The Timeless Reach, jeopardizing the fragile harmony between the two worlds. He was caught and imprisoned, facing execution for trespassing in forbidden territory. Yet, a small demon girl managed to free him from his cell. They became friends, but the boy soon revealed a darker nature than he initially appeared to have. Using a scroll of forbidden and dangerous power, he manipulated the girl, causing her to turn against her lord, Zulzrath. The boy had taught her the power of illusion magic but warned her to never use it for evil----a grave mistake. The girl used this newly learned power to dethrone Zulzrath and claim the title of lordess for herself.

She convinced the other demons that Zulzrath was weak because of the boy's intrusion. With her illusion magic, she instilled fear in the hearts of the demons, desiring them to tremble at her name. She sought to rule with an iron fist, ensuring everyone feared her and dared not challenge her authority. However, her plan ultimately failed, and the boy defeated her. Infuriated that she employed the power he had taught her for evil, he sealed her away for eternity. The girl swore revenge, vowing to make him suffer for betraying her, even if it took a million years for her to escape. Blinded by rage, she harbored a deep hatred for the boy.

In the years that followed, she awaited the day she could be freed. During this time, she concocted what she believed was a brilliant plan for revenge. In reality, her scheme lacked true brilliance. With each passing day, her desire for vengeance intensified.

As time wore on, however, her fury and the pain of betrayal began to fade. Eons of peace followed, but, inevitably, humans found a way to disrupt it. They secretly captured demons for experiments, seeking to create a half-human, half-demon hybrid. Their efforts were unsuccessful. Lord Zulzrath noticed a small decline in the demon population and suspected human interference. Emperor Aulus remained unaware of his people's actions. Zulzrath confronted Aulus about the matter and demanded that the abductions cease. Aulus, oblivious to the true situation, dismissed Zulzrath’s concerns. Eventually, he outlawed the capturing and experimentation of demons, restoring peace.

However, a small group of humans known as the Borasca opposed this rule. The Borasca were a cult that believed demons were both the curse and the cure for every illness. They continued to experiment on demons without the knowledge of either Zulzrath or Aulus, managing to evade their oversight. The experimentation persisted through generations.
