The devil a monster in the dark

It hides away from you and me
waiting to attack

to hurt you and me
what is this monster?

The one underground with all the burning flames


It could be you or me
is it you?

the cries of innocent souls
the cries of guilty souls

So farewell to heaven my friends
I await your return
till this devil comes after you
it came after me
but your souls are pure

So he won't come
but if you see a shadow
you better run.

I like how you pulled it all together. It fits like a puzzle, in a way. The one thing I personally don't like is the highlighting, but in looking at another one of your poems, I see this is some sort of signature. Though it is not in my taste I urge you to keep up with it, it sets you apart from everyone else on here. Keep it up, keep writing.
