Shades of Vermillion

Shades of Vermillion

A Poem by Innominatam
"

A twist of a fairytale

"
Flowers of red falls
soft silken petals that curve
a pair of ruby lips on a maiden’s visage
seductive as a temptress

O’ skin so fair
comes the winter solstice
born a fair rivalry of between two
that puts the cold snow to shame

Wires darker than night
an illusion that hides what shows
tangled like fine thread
waving like the sea where the breeze goes

Painted as red apples
that fell from green trees in meadows
no blush powder the feats
O’ beautiful maiden with the reddened cheeks

A beauty is born
an unjust mother’s nurture
where blood is no thicker than water
a Maiden’s heart for eternal youth
Envy that burns as bright as hot embers

A throne on a bet
dark and bitter future that resides
when a Queen dies
but she is whom her people will forget
neither mourn nor weep

The young heart proceeds to beat
with blood that pumps through
a fairytale exists
written and painted
with the colour
that shows
Shades of Vermillion
