My Life is a Figure Of Speech

My Life is a Figure Of Speech

A Poem by Kaelyn Shea

Just as i thought it would, hell came
& I'm drowning in these high waters
i thought i saw the light at the end but
when i got there all my clouds were black

Someone told me to hang in there but i
only strangled my self with the rope
Someone said Blood is thicker then water
so i cut open my wrist & let it flow

They said that troubles are few & far between
but all i get is evil, nastiness, & well, troubles
then you came & grabbed me hook, line, &
sinker, and i hope I'm not just a throw back

for this is my life, my own little irony
This is how i live, made with so many
heart aches & pains but also a few
loving touches, gentle words and you.

I do believe I have been there, done that; it does get better, give it 40 years, you'll see.
Nice, tongue in cheek piece.
