Never look back

Never look back

A Poem by SouthernBelle

I'm gonna drink all my pain away

forget the memory of you

what hurt the most

you leaving me

All the pain

all the screaming

nothing was worth it

after losing you

I'm drinking my life away

but all the pain

is gone

along with the memory's

I threw your ring into the fire

watched it burn it flames

you broke my heart

I smashed your Xbox

I cried and cried

everyday everynight

I'm slowly getting over you

your in the dust

I'v got a full tank of gas

I'm driving till

I find

what I'm looking for

I'm never looking back

and that's a fact

the past's is gone

so leave it there

In my rear-view mirror

I can see the old me

I'm driving

on and on

Till I completly forget you

until I find the one

I've been looking for

the one I love

I'm sober and fine

I'm finding myself

now better the I used to be

I bet your mad you're missing out

This is the real me

like it or not

you left me anyway

so get over yourself

I'm moving on

never looking back

that's a fact

I found myself on the open road

The feeling of moving on is always the best...especially if the person didn't deserve you. It's hard to forget the memories of someone at first, but once you keep your mind occupied, you'll forget all about them in no time. Though drinking only takes the pain away for a bit and helps you forget, the memories soon come back to haunt you. It's best to focus on yourself and forget the past. Life is always better when you begin to move on.

Break-ups can often lead us to bad behaviors, but I am glad she cleaned up to realize that she wasted her time. To know that she deserved better than what she got. Love is tough, especially when you seem to be the only one caring or putting in the effort to move it forward. I've been there and I ended it because I realized that no matter what I did, nothing was going to change and I needed to show myself that I was better than that. Better than being taken advantage of and being brushed off. I was treated like an option, not a choice. Never settle for less than you deserve.

Good drink and separation best way to forget a lover and pain. I like the flow of thoughts in the poem. I done this tale a few times when I was young. A strong ending to a excellent poem.

lovely poem very good imagery it sounds bad to say I like this poem, because it was painful for you...but I like how much emotion you put into this.

Excellent piece. The last 3 stanza's are my favorite. Nicely written.

Oh and good choice of photo too. Keep it up!

thank you so much :)
Great poem, I thought is was actually really well done.

Though to make it perfect you would need to fix a few parts in the third last stanza:
"I sober and fine
I'm finding myself
now better the I used to be
I bet your mad you're missing out"

See what I mean? Other than that this was a wonderful addition to this community, I related to it myself, thinking about how my baby's mother must have felt when we first split up. Very strong, good job!
