Hiding away

Hidden away

from the world

lost all contact

with everyone

 

She's drowning in her tears

high on her misery

watching her arm

slowly bleed

 

She's fading away

into the shadows

hiding from all the pain

that finds her anyway

 

She looks for someone

to help her up

looking for somebody

to care for her

 

She begs and cries

for someone to hear

but theres nobody near

theres no one around

 

She sits in a crowded room

afraid to talk

she wears long sleeves

afraid of being caught

 

She walks through allys

alone and depressed

she's not afraid of death

she's not afraid to die

 

She's hiding away

from everyone

just wanting someone near

whose going to care

 

She spends her day

dreaming away

of someone that loves her

and someone who cares

A powerful and sad poem. Easy to fall apart. Hard to regain strength to go forward. A sad emotional ride in the excellent poem.

I felt the narrator's sadness in this. I like it and minus a few details we are all probably there all to often. If I were to comment at all if would be about the last two sentences of the 5th stanza from the top they do not go with the rest of the poem stanza style. Maybe she is also afraid of the response?

This is such a sad tale you've told. You've captured the feelings of someone at the end of their rope with no hope just wanting to be loved, held, and validated as a person. I've seen so many like this and it's so heartbreaking. Good poem.
