Letting Go (Chapter Four)A Chapter by Ryann WoodhousePlease, Give me feedback :]I WALKED INTO THE HOUSE, LOOKING AROUND. "Hello?" I called out gently. I closed the door, softly. It barely made a sound as it hit the door frame and closed. I turned around and locked the door. I stepped out from the door way and walked through the front room to the kitchen. "Dad?" I asked. I looked around, trying to see if he left a note or something. Or if he was just asleep, still in bed. I looked down at the counters. Nothing except a full sink, in which I had to pre-clean all the dishes and put them in the dish washer before my dad woke up and noticed they weren't done already. I walked up to the sink, pressing my hips to the counter, and turned the cold water on. Just barely, just like my dad had taught me to do when we weren't fighting. "Use only a little bit of water," He had said, "You don't wanna waste any water, never the less money that we'd have to use for the water bill." I was 9 when he gave me the responsiblity of doing the dishes. And now, 5 years later, when I'm 14, I still remember exactly how that day went. I sighed and picked up a plate, holding it under the water. I grabbed the scrubber my dad told me to use, and scubbed off all the big chunks of food that was stuck to it. Once I got everything off, I set the plate on the bottom rack of the dish washer. "Tanya?" I heard Jack call. I looked up from the sink and saw him sneaking up the steps of the porch and walking up to the side door. "Oh hey." He said gently, leaning over the railing and towards the open window. "How are you?" I smiled softly, and leaned towards the open window as well. "Just doing the dishes," I looked down at arms, crossed under my chest, pressed up against the counter. "So boring," I murmured. He laughed softly and reached his hand out to me. "Well then why not sneak away with me for bit?" I put my hand in his, rubbing his palm gently with my thumb, "Hmm.." I mumbled, looking into his eyes. He looked into mine back silently. We stared at each other for a while and he smiled as I kept rubbing his palm. I smiled back and bit my lip nervously. Jack gripped onto my hand tight and I blushed a little more, biting my lip just a bit harder. "Hey-er-Tanya?" I looked at his lips, then back up to his eyes, "Hmm?" "Well...uhm, ya know..like.." He bit his lip and shook his head. "I know like what?" I giggled softly. "It's nothing," He said, smiling. I let go of his hand and walked over to the sink, turning the water off. I closed the dish washer and walked out to Jack on the porch. I closed the side door softly, making sure it didn't slam. Jack smiled and I leaned towards him, kissing him. I felt the heat on his cheeks against mine, and I pulled away, looking at him. "Er, I'm sorry, I just-" Jack cut me off, slamming his lips into mine. My eyes widened and I kissed him back, wrapping my arms around the back of his neck softly. He grinned against my lips and wrapped his arms around me, pulling me a bit closer to him. I kissed him back. Jack kissed me a bit harder, making me moan softly on his lips. He pulled away and looked at me. "Tha-that was okay, right?" He asked. I nodded, putting my fingertips up to my lips, trying to process everything that had just happened. "Uhm, yeah, it was fine." I mumbled. I looked up in his eyes, and he looked down into mine. "I-I should be going," Jack started walking towards the steps again. "No, Jac-" But he was already dashing through the yard before I could say anything more than that. © 2012 Ryann WoodhouseAuthor's Note
