Letting Go (Chapter Twelve)

Letting Go (Chapter Twelve)

A Chapter by Ryann Woodhouse

I LOOKED AT HIM IN SHOCK. "T-Tyler?" I felt my eyes water as I looked at him. The love of my life just came back to me, after years of not seeing him, he was standing here right in front of me, just like he did in my dreams. He still looked the same way he did when I was 12. Light brown, shaggy hair. His baseball cap hanging low over his eyes, but yet you could see how his blue eyes shone in the shade.

Tyler smiled at me, spreading his arms apart. I ran into his arms and cried, snuggling my cheek against his chest, holding him as tight as I could. He held me softly, rubbing my back. I cried harder, whimpering to myself. "It's me, Tanya..." Tyler said softly. He looked down at me and I looked back up at him.

"Tyler..it's been so long..I've missed you more than anything." I whimpered again and wiped my tears away, smearing my eyeliner and my mascara. Tyler smiled down at me and leaned down, kissing me. I kissed him back and kept my arms around him as I layed my head on his chest again. He rocked me in his arms softly, closing his eyes and leaning back a bit. I closed my eyes, too, embracing in his hug. The hugs I missed. The hugs I felt in my dreams.

"I missed you, too, Tanyie." Tyler whispered, softly. "I'm so sorry for hurting you," He sighed, shaking his head as he whispered, pulling me closer to him, "I was such a dumbass...I was just..so mad."

I took a deep breath, trying my hardest to stop crying. "It-It was my fault, Tyler. You don't need to be sorry for anything," I took a few more deep breaths, pulling away from Tyler, even though deep down I knew I wanted him to just hold me and rock me in his arms gently forever. "But..but whatever made you come back to me?" I asked, looking at him.

"I was listening to Far Away while I was driving. And I just had to come and see you. I've missed you so much, Tanya. I've done so many things I wish I didn't do while you were gone from me," He looked at me and pulled me towards him again. I heard his heart beat in his chest, fast; slow. I smiled, and held onto him.

"Don't let me go, Tyler..please.." I looked up at him, tears in my eyes, "Hold onto me, never let me go..." I murmured, repeating a part of the lyrics in Far Away. He looked down at me and held me closer.

"I'm not going to...ever..." Tyler whispered, looking down at me.

I looked back up at him, watching as his jaw tightened. I kissed him softly, and looked down at my feet. "Doe-Does that mean that we're back together..." I mumbled softly. I felt Tyler nod as he rested his chin on the top of my head, kissing my hair softly.

Tyler took my hand, pulling me upstairs into my room. He layed me down on my bed, covering me with my purple blanket. He leaned down and kissed me softly, "Now get more sleep, Tanya, you look tired." Tyler put his hand on my cheek bone and ran his fingertips down my jaw line. He looked in my eyes. "I love you..."

I looked at him back, kissing him softly, then laying back and flipping on my side so that my back was facing him. "I love you, too," I closed my eyes tight, fighting back more of my tears, and heard as he walked out of my room, closing the door softly.
