Like Glass Fills The Air

Like Glass Fills The Air

A Poem by Kai Bishop
"

glass, blood, denial

"

two black eyes are all i see

rage fills them both up

like glass fills the air

and i don't really feel anything

you used to pray with me, you know

our words filled the dark like promises

like glass fills the air

and we don't do that anymore

she's screaming at us to stop

blood is spraying, staining both of us red

like glass fills the air

and i see the moment you know what you've done

a small spot of calm in a sea of violent red

im playing a game im performing an act and my lies flood us all

like glass fills the air

and you see it for a second before all you see is yourself

i used to think i was invincible

before the cut, before you severed the line in my flesh with your anger

like glass fills the air

were both shouting but theres no noise

like glass fills the air

and all i can do is swim

in this sea of red you tried to drown me in

like glass fills the air
