Tempation

Temptation.

It reels you in.

It warps you.

Seduces you.

It convinces you.

It makes you believe.

You want it.

You need it.

You want to succomb,

You need to succomb,

To its power.

To its influence.

You've watched others

                                    fall victim

                 to it's tricks.

And yet you still

                                    want to fall

                 into it's grasp.

Into it's

            false sense of security.

Into it's

            false sense of righteousness.

It whispers sweetly,

                             darkly,

   into your delicate

                              ear.

Sweet sorrow.

                       Sweet indulgence.

                Sweet nothings.

Bittersweet,

                   like joyful memories

           coated with remorse.

It pulses through

                        your body,

    ears,

            head,

                     torso...

The mid-tempo

                        unrelentless

     pulse.

Fading in,

                anticipation.

Fading out,

                adrenaline crash.

As it peaks,

                eyes water,

                                  head throbs,

                 heart pounds.

All an illusion,

nevertheless.

All in my head...

                           who'd have guessed?
