   just why you couldn't stay;
Your time cut short upon this earth,
   just wish for one more day!

You made your mark before you left,
   a place inside my heart;
An empty space that can't be filled
   so long as we're apart!

I try so hard to be so strong,
   so lonely now it seems;
What's harder than to be alone-
   to live with shattered dreams!

Your memory fills my mind each day,
   my mind is all a buzz;
I cherish so but one small thing,
   this photo of just us!

I carry it so close to me,
   I'll never let it go;
And every time I take a glance,
   your beauty still aglow!

It's all I've left of you for now,
   my princess and best friend;
Until that day at Heaven's gates
   I'll hold you once again!

   but now within my dreams;
I see you soaring high and free
   since now you've got your wings!
