Everything.A Poem by Kwiksie IfedioraThat's what He is to me.There’s
a crowd. A
noisy, sweaty, bubbling crowd. They’re
all over the place; they’re up in my face, If
there were a scarcity of claustrophobia it would yet be found in this place But,
I might as well be alone with Silent
echoes playing in the background Because
despite this cacophony of sounds Your
voice is the only thing that rings through clearly, And
it soothes me. Oh!
How it soothes me. It’s
like icy cold droplets of water Drawing
trails and patterns down my entire body Ensuing
its being scorched by a heat most sweltering; The
heat that comes with the pressure And
the heat of the tears from seeking short-lived pleasures. But
the life in your breath is my relief from all that And
as I hear you, I form a picture in my head. At
least I think I do. Yet
in reality, the truth of what has happened Is
my every brain tissue has, prior to this time, been etched with you. An
enhancement, and I’m most pleased Because
the implication is that I have had you---permanently. Thus,
you embody my being’s entirety For
though you’ve already been grafted in my heart, You’ve
now also hijacked my every thought, memory and fantasy. I think that fixes everything. © 2013 Kwiksie IfedioraAuthor's Note
