S.M.I.L.EA Poem by Kwiksie IfedioraI promised not to cry anymore...I’ve
spread the lids to these pearly bones of mine, As
I cruise through time’s adolescence. Not
because I want to, not because I miss you… Figuring
out the reason is a mathematician’s job to do.
Calculate
one meeting, subtracted from a life span. Millions
of questions, one answer; ‘I am.’ A
dozen conversations with less than half a chance To
say all that should have been said, to give you one more glance.
Wish
your time frame were some inches longer, a little wider, just all round bigger! For
it to contain the beautiful image that was your heart. A
master piece painted in shades of forever The
one very similar to His who’s been there from the start.
I’ve
spread the lids to these pearly bones of mine Not
due to pleasure at the fact that you’re gone But
because when my drive through time’s aged years is done,
I’ll
see you again…in the fullness of time. © 2013 Kwiksie IfedioraAuthor's Note
