Angry Enough?!A Poem by Kwiksie IfedioraEphisians 4: 31-32Slamming doors and flared nostrils Breaking glass and cutting words. Breathing uneven and in quick succession- And the regret of not teaching a more bruising lesson. “It just happened and I couldn’t control myself. I got mad and well some things can’t be helped.” So you excuse the symptoms And the poison seeps through Filling each and every vein until the poison is you. A metamorphosis which occurred while Your ignorance was privy. You may be inflicting the pain, But can you guess who’s dying? Workings of the mind invested in evil; That which you failed to discard Is now more essential than breathing. But when you make this the ruler of your life Please be aware you’ve signed for your own killing. Swimming is your weak point, Yet you chase the tides. And when they close in and wash over Every part of your being, They blind your eyes. On the surface it may appear---it may feel cool; But you’re really burning your insides. Burning with an urgent need for change air, Burning with the need to let the destroyer out of there. Burning till they’re all consuming And the euphoria of calm is gone. Because you let the fire rage on for too long, You ignored the warnings… And now you have burnt everybody. Hope you’re happy… 9th August 2013 © 2013 Kwiksie IfedioraAuthor's Note
