The uncertain traveler

The uncertain traveler

A Poem by poddar kushal
"

Mist and mystery are two items life is build upon

"

The uncertain travelers
A fresh road with nomadic leaves
lies ahead of the travelers, still uncertain a bit.
Journey thus begins.

The spendthrift sun
in this vacuum of evening
is making him shiver, wintry.
The road to hills
is bending to the blended mists.
He can taste the fear as he licks his lips.

He is frightened not for self,
he does not fear of loneliness.
He has with him, her to take care.

Together they search
for any sign to begin,
the chariot to ride …
“It is their life they have to embark on.”
A dry wind is saying.

He tries to stop the passing cars
for a lift. A whistle and smokes rise
from the ancient rail at a wink of green,
signaled by a lean and coughing gourd.
The station grows vast and lonely again.

A freight car stops.
They hike into, just then some
white clouds deluge the scene beyond.

A distant chime rings.

Though this is a bit whimsy and a joy to read due to the great imagery you present,
of a duo on an escapade-I love these lines the most...
"He is frightened not for self,
he does not fear of loneliness.
He has with him, her to take care."
If I venture off metaphorically and think of how great life is
and to enjoy it with someone that cares for me and "has my back"/looks out for me
through it all-WOW!
This piece created many happy thoughts for me,
and that is what great poems do.

Well Im not sure if this was imaginary or reality but your presentation of words led me to
believe it was a reality of a place visited. So regardless this is a winner in my book all
way around.
Thank you my new friend and I hope you brought back
may new stories from your vacation

you have a fresh and classic style that i found to be intellectually stimulating and beautiful. your lines are well crafted and deeply thought (felt).

i espeically enjoyed the idea of "nomadic leaves" & "blending to bending"

This is really very thoughtful, in some or other way we all are uncertain travelers of this world and this poem symbolizes a lot!
The metaphor of "nomadic leaves" stands out for me, though I loved the entire poem too!

I love the sense of mystery about this poem. I like the imagery of "nomadic leaves" and "a dry wind is saying". I like the way the "distant chime" makes me wonder about what they have left and where they are going.

Oh this was perfectly beautiful.
Imagery was fantastic and you penned this so eloquently.

I loved this line:
"The spend thrift sun in this vacuum of evening is making him shiver, wintry."

Well my dear friend have a wonderful vacation (lucky you). I can't wait to
see what wonders your little trip does for your "muse".
We can expect some more awesome poems from you. Vacations do wonders
for the creative juices!

Take care and God speed!

The title of your poem made me think of Chaucer's Canterbury tales for the destination of those travelers was uncertain indeed...
Yet, you manage to surprise your readers time and time again!
I like the image of the nomadic leafs... specially this time of season!
For the rest I can relate to the other images very well, because this could well relate to any long walk in a European forest or hitchhiking holiday.
Well, I hope you enjoy your holiday... When I am due to take my holiday ... it will be in order to move house!

This is absolutely beautiful. Such a feeling of protective care for her. Such a feeling of being out alone in the vast night.

Ach, your poem makes me wish I had a ticket to ride anywhere in India for a month. And no responsibilities or worries to hold me back. But I have reached an earlier destination called Three Children City and so cannot travel, except in the imagination. I like the way your traveller does not care for himself but for his companion. Also like all the colour in the poem. Travel well!
