journey (times)

journey (times)

A Poem by poddar kushal

Journey (times)

“How far?”  She asks, eternally without answers.

Eyes, weary eyes look yonder,

A path lies ahead, tortuous as ever,

Lost amid lights and darks.

A valley of verdant flaunts its assets

And a down to earth sun…

How far, how far and how far…

Echoing words take a flight of a condor

Looking for what it is used to, from the distance.

Thousands of years have whispered

In their ears. Hundreds of light-years of travel

They have taken to reach.

Babylon to New York and Indus to London

By will and at random they have walked.

Touching hopes

And, losing them by the next turn.

Sometimes they wait

In a solitary corner under the shadow of evolution.

Their eyes meet. They go beyond each other

In a pilgrimage of a promised land.

This is full of wonderful word choices, and also of very fresh metaphors. Nicely constructed, easy to grasp, and catches the senses. Very nicely done.
