Rain rain

Rain rain

A Poem by poddar kushal

Rain rain

Mother told her to save them for rainy days.

The rain drops on the future this noon.

This noon of annihilated sun.

And, this day she breaks her piggy bank.

Opened, a note from a distant land

With roaming nomads of memory

Flies out. It flies to and fro, settles

On the dust over a black book case.

A currency it is, to be cashed

In a different plain, in a world

With strange lights and figures of the past.

A sepia lane and lame cat crossing…

A sparrow touched by death

A motherly hand placed on her head.

Mother told her to save them for rainy days

not seeing that this piggy bank of hers actually holds cash per se, as much as it holds treasures of the heart. to be saved for the rainiest of days when the heart is shedding a million diamond tears and we need a comforting touch. i like this one. excellent.

Excellent poem so very beautiful that I intend to read and save over and over again. Words of wisdom and loved the imagery that this poem is steeped in. Thank you my friend for sharing it. Anne. xxx

This was exquisite. Meaning is layered into this work. Your form and structure really add to the beauty of this composition. Fine work.

The images are wonderful here. I can imagine the note drifting slowly down to the top of the dust covered bookcase. It seems that this bank is more of a time capsule than a bank. That what it contains is much cherished; and honoured. That it was passed down to her by a loved one with whom she has fond memories.
Yet there are messages woven within your sepia snapshots. Apocalyptic flickerings in the opening stanza. Could this girl be the saviour of some future Ragnorahk?

A well written piece with beautiful detail that leaves the reader wondering just what is hidden betwixt the layers. Nice write!

Firstly, I found the piece quite lyrical and actually was singing it while reading..

so..I loved the imagination of yours in the piece..And you simply evolved different aspects in a single piece..
I found it quite mysterious and full of enigma till the end...

Very much symbolic since rain itself is a symbol for many emotions..

A great write overall :)

I have to agree with the other reviewers it is an enigmatic piece. Feels wistful, sad but with great images. Nice.
