the ant

the ant

A Poem by poddar kushal

The ant

An ant with its provisions,

The shade of rain on anthill.

Looking at it you have learned-

Someone’s leftover can save

Lives.

Crushed letters are getting drenched,

Free fall of rain on a path.

 Nothing special on this day.

You can’t quite see the next man

Desert is setting in mind.

Nothing special but the ant.

A very unique subject.
Everything it said to me has already been stated.
But, i feel the need to say that it rings truth, and will definitely be something for me to think about.

Amazingly done!

Yrs.

Loved it! Not sure if you're into writing contests or not, but I found a contest that is right up this peom's alley. It's called the Animalistic Spirit Contest. Check it out: http://www.writerscafe.org/contests/3975/
I think this poem would be a definite winner!

It's amazing what one can find entrancing. Everything is intereting if you look at it with an open mind.

This was a great poem and shows that ants are crafty lil buggers, it's amazing that something so small could possibly one day be on the top of the food chain

"Someone's leftover can save
Lives."

Indeed. That was my favorite part!

This poem fills me with the desire to listen to "Ants Marching" by Dave Matthews. :)

Excellent! May I share this with a friend of mine, giving you credit of course? He writes poetry that you remind me of. He is a popular poet on Myspace, Dodinsky. I think he would appreciate your works, very much.
Here is one of his poems:

A Gem Stone

Oh anger is a rock
that can be so easily thrown
when enemies are known.

But,
when you learn
to conquer this emotion,
to forgive those
who hurt us
without caution,

in time this rock
will be a precious gem stone,
a reminder of days
when reason reigned
over emotion.

sometimes just the tiniest almost unnoticed event can be the highlight and the most important part of our day. i often watch the ants and wish people took as good care of our fellow beings as they do theirs. i like the complete circle focusing on the ant. what we think of as useless, a mechanical smile, a tossed bread crust, an unretrieved dropped dime,,,all have value to someone. short but to the point...nice.
