The End

The End

A Poem by Kurt Gargis

The End

Asgard, standing sentinel over the world.
Nifeilheim, crouching with a snare.
Both waiting for Ragnarok.

Heaven, standing high and holy.
Hell, lying desperate and ravenous.
Two waiting for Armageddon.

Nirvana, standing indifferent, unbound.
The next life, just another cycle,
Waiting for its own finish.

All of these watching, waiting...
Fighting tooth and nail.
But for the Wolf and the Serpent,
The Fire and the Brimstone,
The final death...It's all the same.
               It's the End.

So much said in such a small space.
Excellent work!
I especially liked-
"The next life, just another cycle,
Waiting for its own finish."

Such a scary thought and you captured that moment.
