The Dillemma

The Dillemma

Poem kinda following the rhyme scheme of "The Raven" that I wrote for English class about 3 years ago.

The Dillemma

As I explored, as to keep from getting bored,
The depths of my love for her, and only her,
I wondered of the past, and why we didn't last.
I wondered what was wrong with the things that were.
I racked my mind, time and time again.
To find out how to have her again.

'Twas the answer I wish to gain.

It is the winter, the cold, and the dying out of the old.
And so I hope that the season is not a dire omen,
That this strife, O! Strife of my life!
Do not make me be of those sad masses of sad men.
Give me a solution to which I can say "Amen!"
'Tis still the problem I wish to mend.

With the passing of each day, as I go about my way,
I look ahead, to the side, behind, and everywhere,
For any light, for any possible respite.
I feel I need this as surely as I need air,
For to rid myself of this life's tear,
For only this, do I care.
