Lamia Fatum

Lamia Fatum

A Poem by ZangetsuKurosaki

Dark, the world he travels by night.
a wolf howls in the distance, a somber cry
the breeze it caresses, and calls out his name
a reminder for him to keep his hunger at bay

hunger he knows not for the blood,
but of the flesh that is ever denied to him so.
the women he loved whom betrayed his existence
a friend he once knew of humble simplistic's

how, i ask, do you keep a demon at bay?
one that's strength resides from inside
rotten and writhing in blood, and corruption
who's only offer is wholesome seduction?

he walks though the night, alone are his cries
oh how he wishes to meet his demise!
to feel the bowls of hell beginning to rise
as they slow, yet surely burn his insides...

oh cruel it is, to never have died!
to wander this world, hungry and cold
and realize that your forever alone...
to yearn for that which you can never obtain
the warmth of a women, your light gone astray

light it seems is far from your slide.
the life of a devil forever astride.
will the beast with in us ever subside?
for this is the life, of us acquainted with the night
and these are the rules,  with which we abide
when condemned to the a life that is closer to dead
for to give life, we must take one instead
