Conflict

innocent yet provocative
as he smile at me with glee
with blood stained eyes that seemed to be able
to look deep inside of me

his piercing gaze
seemed to send my soul ablaze
skin that felt as cold as ice
drained from me my mortal vice

with life gone, i lay their still
as he bent me to his will
then realization dawned over me
for this man, was the devil you see
the devil that lay dormant inside of me.

fought i did to regain control
the battle over my very soul
"give in" he said "for cant you see, that you are forever apart of me"
try i might, i cannot win
my heart it filled with deep chagrin

the though of her, it crossed me mind
my angel forever frozen in time.
"give in" repeat the devil inside my head
"for you know she's long been dead"
"dead to you but not to me"
"like you, she'll forever be apart of me"

Then he laughed a wicked laugh
one filled my evil and malice
so much, i felt my heart grow callous
i knew my heart was his to take
for now, i am rendered powerless in his wake

and so my life went on you see
forever with the blasted devil inside of me
oh, but dont you know he's inside us all?
you have only but to call...
