The metal and patchwork dragons

Tinker was not born like most of the other dragons. No, they were created by the greatest Engineer of the region, crafted from metal sheets stronger than steel, bolted together and blessed with an eternal fire that brought them to life. Tinker was a part of a pair, their second by the name of Patches.

Patches was created from scraps of cloth, thread, and needles. They were crafted by the Engineer's partner, a great Tailor that was very skilled at making stuffed animals come to life. The Tailor would make living animals out of simple cloth and set them free around the house they shared.

Tinker and Patches were created together, in the same room of their shared shops. The dragons were created as companions for each other, so that the other would constantly be reminded of the first. Even when their jobs took them great distances apart, the dragons that they made for each other would always be there for them as a sign of "I'm still here, don't worry."

People still claim that the dragons and their owners still roam the lands together, even if the metal rusted and the cloth decayed long, long ago.
