In the silence of AbeA Poem by James Cooper T.
To the land of love, where it may be.
To the dawn of a baby, spring of humanity. To the thought of fantasy, clouding vanity. And to the jar soul, where you fill it freely. Road had taken me near and far, wondering to where we are. Not looking straight and in par, on world so vast and bizarre. Yielding only a handful of self so bare. A soul's time deter as to cigar, leading a peak on youth afar And death awaits upon a star. Yet in life came this gift. A present unlike I received. So on my shoulder I lift, and when it is lost I will grieve. Tis this tribute surely not adrift, or else my heart would form a rift. Abe is the soul gift, holding Heavenly Host's name. My dear where art thou? My soul used to be drenched, with thy presence of love. Now it is longing to be quenched, hunchback famished and not enough. Only to be accompanied by Midnight's silence solace howl. The bread I ate tasted bland. The wine I indulged tasted sour. The room I employ is shunned, of the void that had devour. And I haven't gone out to this hour, in beguiling solitude's band. Day and night I pass the window, in hope to see you on the other side. Abe be gale. Abegail to Life's avail, may it be me to you, and you for me. And as a sailor's sail set sail through the stormy sea gale in veil, this heart of mine will be still. It belongs to you, and you it will see. Though naive I may be and that they tell to me, as it may sound but faith I have put in thee. This is both a test between you and me. And silence has it been involuntarily. One, two, or three, and more could it be, Here I make up to wait patiently. In the silence of Abe, could be eternity. Abe to me, I long so much to see. © 2023 James Cooper T. |
