This is actually a song not a poem.. I just rewrote the lyrics to fit me. 4/11/13

Now and then I think of the man I used to be

Like when I thought I felt so happy I could die

Told myself things would always be this way

But then my world crashed down around me

But that was me and it’s a life I still remember

 

I got addicted to a certain kind of sadness

That stinging pain became my friend, my only friend

Then I lost the found and nothing would make sense

I’m alone while surrounded with friends

I just wish that the happiness wasn’t over

 

But I didn’t have to change myself

Blame it on what happened and quit like it was nothing

And I don’t even know myself

Gaze in the mirror and see a stranger

And that feels so rough

Have my friends believe my masks
