Thirty

Thirty

A Poem by Kuo Yisheng

Dragging hair

Crackling leaves

Shifting mass

Trudging trudging

Crooked man at his computer desk

While the bedside lamp is nudging

Footsteps near

Broken neck

Running running

Going on, pen complex

Never to return

Hate to look at the previous self but how can you ever learn?

Stepping stride

Hurdle log

Landed on a sleeping frog

CRUNCH as they bite into a bell pepper

Slush and seed overflow from his mouth

Teeth and jaw like locomotive gears

Come to cliff

Jungle above, city below

Turn back to see

Deadlines almost upon you now

The weight of the stress makes your chair break

They alleviate the stress and make a bed break

Plugging up the holes on a boat with cotton candy

Deeper deeper into the water

Eye to eye with one

Rushing mouth agape

In bed, sleeping when you can

Dream of simpler life

Eat bug

rest

Footsteps near

Hurdle log

Landed on a sleeping frog
