I got more carats than a chicken pot pie
And I got the cash for Christmas in july
But affluence is what I want to imply
Things of bigger meaning is see with my eye

Like pretty lil girls in this fast tail world
Corn row braids to head full of curls
Confused young men looking for a place
Defining themselves looking for a face

Looking for wisdom under street lights
Looking for warmth in the cold embrace of night
But Despite the odds we keep fighting
The Beautiful struggle is why I keep writing

Chorus
Life is like pictures use negative to show
All our pretty colors let the whole world know
If life was easy we’d run whole show
But since its greasy we work hard to grow
X2

With my mom and dad the streets co wrote me
Gave hope heros but no guarantees
That I would ever see my ability
The Potential held in me

But that’s where the trials came in
Like I was followed by a violin
Playing sad songs that would never end
Until I stopped it with the force of my pen

I took control and here I am
Still in the hood but now I gotta plan
To either make good on my dreams
Or at least chill when it gets extreme

Chorus

Its our season and This our anthem
For those that grind rather than throw tantrums
To hear some folk tell it we love sub standard
To be walked on and roughly handled

But we know better than to argue with fools
So we ignore they little system of rules
We make do and support those that make it
Pray that success don’t change them to dat fake s**t

Cuz we love our hoods and streets that we come from
That’s why we put em our chest back and then some
So we never forget what it took to become
Call it a testimony I do mines over drums

I think you made your point really well. I don't usually like rap, but this actually had me hooked. My favorite part was the second chorus. You've got talent, in my opinion.
