I am lost and I am alone,

lost in my misery, alone in my pain

lost in my loneliness, alone on the edge of insanity

lost in pity, alone in my maelstrom

lost in my depression, alone in my despair.

Screams of fear, doubt, and confusion

erupt from the black waters of my soul,

and through my tears of grief and distress I whisper

I don't want to be lost, I don't want to die alone.

Please remember even though we all feel very alone at times...we are never alone {*+*}. Giving life your all and it not seeming good enough is an emotion that I can relate to very much. It's way past time for anger caused by 'life's" pain to be over. I am truly sorry you have endured anguish...so unnecessary for humanity, I pray that each day; whether is a day of melancholy or strength that it is a bright new beginning for you. ~ Judi :-) xo

Nice rythm on each line. Great high and low sounds (scream-whisper). Beautifully 'circle finishing' between first line and last. Short, dramatic, effective, that is the way I like it. Keep up the good work!

Deep and dark. alot of great poetry comes from these it seems. It all drives us to the writing table maybe. I know I've come from these emotions as well and they have driven me to some pretty disturbing stuff. I like the last lines though where you state the wishes to be away from all of that. Hopefully you can find a path that leads to something lighter and happier but the intentions to move in a positive direction give some hope that you can. I like the sentiment there. Overall, I found it really good and ironic that it came from someone named Serendipity!
