IntroductionA Chapter by Krisen LisonIntroduction This
book is based upon the blog postings that I made starting in my sophomore year
of college. It began as a way to cope with how I felt, and to get out all of
the emotion that affects me on a daily basis. The blog posts themselves are all
true, as are the majority of the events that take place between them. However,
as I can’t remember it all, this will be presented as a fiction account of real
events. The names are changed for their sake. But those featured know who they
are. Some things may hurt you, some may inspire you, and some others may just
make you want to stop. But if you stick with it, maybe, just maybe, you’ll
understand what it’s like to live in my shoes. The title of this book comes from the greatest poet of all time. Edgar Allen Poe was a man who understood what it was like to suffer. He knew true pain everyday of his life. And yet he still wrote, no matter what the world threw at him. He kept going until the day he died and now people like me can acknowledge him for it at last. He was my hero and inspiration, the goal I wanted to reach, and everything that kept me writing even when I just wanted to forget about everything. This book is for him just as much as it’s for me, I know you’re dead Edgar, but your spirit lives on in people like me. ~Krystyl Lisoh © 2013 Krisen Lison |
