Island

Island

A Poem by Krystle Queen

I want to be an island

                         No you don't

The space and rhythm

                         The confinement and boredom

Full of life and gratification

                        Full of death and distraction

A way to cover my mistake

A way to tear up and break

To runaway from my fear

To get consequences that are severe

Rethink what I have built

                           Rethink all the guilt

I want to be an island

         No, I don't

A wonderful poem of the inner battles we have with ourselves, the outcome of which is often influenced by others.
Well done, dear poet.
