Scarred Heart, Full of Hope

I wrote this when I first started to date again after divorcing. We shall see if it holds true.

And so her scarred heart
healed in the flames of passion and time
she offered once again
her hope making her heart soar
her dread making her throat sore.

She feared to be broken
to be stung to her very core
and yet she sings
her heart in flight
the dizzy height of love
a potent drug.

So her happiness embraced her fear
and though her path may not be clear,
she placed one foot in front of the other
and a series of delightfully terrifying moments lead her on.
