Obsidian loneliness

Obsidian loneliness

A Poem by Krystal Jones
"

I have over the last few years come to realize a relatively harsh truth. No matter who you are with, you are always alone.

"

Wandering into the haze
sinking into the forest
revealing the rugged landscape
of sorrow's confusion.

Bleak and gray peaks
cloaked in a shroud of rain
I've stumbled into the
obsidian night of my pain.

On the surface I smile and wave
but beneath the veneer
my heart is as black as the grave
this choking fog I cannot clear.

Only the closest of my friends
know I'm lost in here
and though they draw near
there is no way to prevent how this ends
I am alone I fear.

This is a beautiful poem filled with emotion. As I read it felt as if it was written with a lot of emotion and I think that sometimes the best piece are written from the heart. Nicely done.
