Sounds to me that you may have caught something. Its mystyfing, mind boggling, most intensifying....there's no cure for it, other than to come to terms with it gradually and realize it for what it is. Such a mix from one part of us that is human and the other part that looks out for your own individual interests needs to be carefully balanced. It may develop into faith, love and several other affective states. It is to be discovered.
