Life's so beautiful, isn't it?

I'm honestly being only half-sarcastic in giving the poem the title that it has..

life throws challenges

brings within a change

everything you can't help

tests your strength

don't need empathy

for i haven't emotions

albeit i ain't so cold

for i do possess a soul

people fail

people show

people frail

people bow

people pray

people low

the only thing i might pray for

the existence of a rock on the shore

when your worst enemies

stay in your so-called home

when people love but selfishly

how could you not feel alone?

if this is the kind of love that comes from you,

then you might as well chain me too

babe, i just slipped why am i

averse to all the worldly ties

and, of these worldly bonds

you'd find i ain't so fond

try as hard as you just might

but i ain't giving in to your lie

'cause they're waiting up in the sky

with wings designed for me to fly

That kind of after-life

which ain't no heaven, no hell

but that which you can tell

when you're stronger than a rock

yet you feel lighter than a feather

To me, this poem tells of all the hardships that life brings though many do not see these difficulties. How the imperfection of mankind means that we are a billion individuals all living our selfish needs. And yet, I read another perspective. Flip side of the coin so to speak. Where hardships do not dominate, but hard times breed harder men. When I read this poem, I feel a harder man, hard enough to tell life is worth a beautiful time. But that's just a personal interpretation.

Thought provoking and a true lesson for life. Great work!
