Corrupted by the HeartA Poem by KristonGeared up, I push back the sword, Crushing the mere feeling of nostalgia, Creeping into the very few crevices of my heart, But at least its a start.
Front row now come in and enjoy the show, Blink twice as the light flickers down, Now the heart thumps...to late its done! Did you miss it, That's the show, Now you see how little I truly care though.
Shut it, you freaks who care, And all those that creep up to listen in fear, Of what lies await in the back of my mind, Waiting to spit on the fire in your life. What did you expect, for me to put it out, Nope, the shot comes out like acid pouring to the flesh, As my words burn you within, Well its the truth expect it to hurt.
Made up my mind, Now ready to go, Venture far to untold roads. It never mattered before..... till I met her, Tore out what made me think, In place what made you blink. Thump..thump..more than once.
The words poured out, caring and all out, Fighting the battle without my sword, To have it end, In bitter remorse. She tore it out, and held it there.
But at least she kept it near, In a bag and in a drain, Waiting for me to cry in pain, With my river of tears to take it away, Which brings me back to square one today. Life was way better before I met you. Thinking and caring became one in two. But without a heart the curtains close. Its the end of the show, Time to go.
Now you see how much I truly cared. Go off now and live in fear, For the only one that gave you the truth, Now lays six feet under, beneath your shoe.
Valid answers never lay within the heart. But in the mind, When its not clouded with all of that. © 2011 Kriston |
