The Secret Love of a Prince

The Secret Love of a Prince

A Poem by Kristin

Though in an abandoned state he watches me

From windows taller than mine

Oh, the sweet sound of harps playing

Sends chills down my beaten spine

His hair curled up with locks

Beneath me I cannot breathe

I lost my train of thought

Oh, look a lemon tree.

I know he thinks of me,

Almost as much as I think of him

But the church they’ll banish me

Or love nothing but a sin
